Four Wide was inspired by the alienating feelings that accompany having such ready access to scenes from one’s past. The title of the track refers to the formatting Apple uses to organizes photos on iPhones, where small thumbnails sit side-by-side in rows of four. The track builds to a multi-tracked effort by Dickson at its climax, in which she sings of the experience of Elodia watching all “7,391” photos – the number, that day, held on his phone – pass before him.
